Don't start down the credit road. All it will do is cost you more money for the same thing. If you can make 6 months of payments, make those payments to yourself and get it in 6 months.

    +1!

It's nice to start building up credit, but don't do it over a purchase for something you don't absolutely need.

Btw, no one's ignoring your threads.....it's maybe the 4th time you've said this.

Wow, try not to be offended when it takes people more than 6 minutes to respond to a thread. I can't imagine hardly anyone hear knows about the 6 month payment option from ebay. I'm on there all the time and had no idea they even offered something like that. I do agree with the others however that it might not be wise to get a sub with payments. In the time it takes you to save up for the rest maybe you will find a smokin deal on craigslist or here in the flea market that will suit you better. If not, you will have the money for what you want from ebay.

Don't worry, you're not being ignored.

I've posted threads and didn't get a reply til a day or two later, it happens.

And yeah, that's how 'credit' works. You pay said-item off over time, but you pay interest on it. It's how companies make their money.

Now if it were some type of interest-free layaway type plan then that's different.

Make it your personal goal to save up some money over the next 6 months to buy your sub. If you can't save enough money during that time then maybe you shouldn't buy the sub to begin with. As you get older, you'll learn that such decisions aren't smart at all financially speaking. Just a little bit of advice

You are defeating your own arguement. Flip it around, if you say you can't save up for the purchase how can you beleive you can save for the payment. Won't there be something else that you could use the cash on......for other purchases to even an emerency. You are "promising" to be good next time. That's the trap people fall into. If you can learn to save, you will be so far ahead of the game it will be shocking to you.

I've found one of my best deals ever on Austin craigslist. Another deal wasn't great, but it was an SVS Plus/2 sub at a very fair price. I don't know if you'd call it high end or not, but it shakes the house during movies

Agree with the others, don't get started on the credit cards. Been there, done that, learned my lesson.

6 months no interest means the interest accrues. If you'd pay it off in full by 6 months, you get charged all of the interest. Good deal if you make the payments. Bad deal if something comes up and you don't get it paid off.

The entire point of the program is to get you to buy things you can't afford. Being in debt before you can drive is not success. Not to mention that it will besomething that could keep you from a car or fixing a car when it breaks cause you need to make a subwoofer payment. Or you can miss a payment and start to ruin your credit score early which then cost you more when you go to finance important items.......like houses.

Just save up Eric. When you're out of college and making the big $$, that'll be the time it's a bit safer to take advantage of these deals. Not now.

Besides, back to your original question, why don't you just look for your answers at the source? Try this link:
    https://www.billmelater.com/cm/paypa...p180d3iwK.html

Or, if as you said that you can't save up, ask your parents to front you the money (or at least what is 'just above your price range') and then pay them back.

Just keep saving your money!!! Right now your interested in a sub, but soon you'll need a car, maybe you'll want to go to college (which should be your priority), keep focused on whats important and concentrate on what your true needs are, not your wants. Don't go down the credit road, at least not for a sub............with the proper education you'll be able to get all the subs you want......in time.

I'm glad to see you working hard for what you already have.

making a decision to buy on credit is yours and your parents/guardians to make
I would think a 15 year old would need someone to co-sign or legally approve.

    good luck on your purchase

I can't see where a 15 year old would be approved for Credit, a debit card means you have the money in the account and you are spending that.

Through Pay Pal "bill me later" you can receive 6 months min. payment and defferred interest. If it is paid before 6 months the interest will not be charged. If you do not pay the amount off in 6 months you will be charged the wonderful amount of 24.95% interest from day 1. Often times electronics categories do not qualify for the 6 months and it usually needs to be an auction and not a Buy it Now.

I have used it a couple times. In one case the item came not as described an I returned it to the seller. that was nice as they just credited the account back and I was never short any money. It also allows me the opportunity to buy an amp and decide if I like it and want to keep it or re-auction it and pay the bill. I am not going to get into details on how I manage my money but I have found ways to make it work for me.

Shouldn't be applying for credit in the first place at your age (not like you'd be approved anyway)!

Stay away from credit, build it up LATER when you're financially stable and much smarter on the subject. I will say it's good to hear you'd prefer to buy things yourself, alot of kids your age would still be running to their parents for ipods/etc.

I agree with everybody else on this thread...saving is key, but building your credit is also important. It seems like you saved money to purchase all the rest of your gear, so why not follow that same positive pattern, instead of falling into the demise of impulse buying?

For 15 years-old, that's a pretty impressive system. When I was 15 I had Cewin Vegas 12" and a budget-friendly Onkyo with a 13" television. I thought this system was awesome! Little did I know.
