Default Ferrari Eater made by a British

Dale Vince, founder of British green power company Ecotricity, decided two years ago that he wanted to create a flashy, fun, fast automobile, that ran on nothing but electricity created by his company's own wind turbines. Vince and his team proceeded to buy and gut a used Lotus Exige, outfitted it with two electric motors, and after 18 months ended up with the Nemesis – a one-of-a-kind 170 mph green machine that reportedly eats V12 Ferraris for breakfast.

I bet its' thermal limit only allows a 170mph run for about 50 seconds, so it'll eat a V12 until it catches up and outruns it....

This car wouldn't stand a chance on the autobahn even against a normal supercar.

IMO, electric cars are awesome, but for the reasons above can't be supercars.

Electric cars are not quite there yet. Battery technology has to improve so the charge time is shorter and they can run more miles on a charge.

IMO electric cars create the same pollution problem as normal cars. Even though his car only is being powered by windmill generated electricity, 70% of electricity is still produce by coal and if you believe that C02 is bad for the environment then coal power plants are a big source of C02 emissions.

True, pollution is still there, but then the average user isn't the one creating it. If everyone had an electric car, the focus would shift from greener cars to greener electricity production. We'd only have to focus on a few types of electricity generation as opposed to 80 car brands and thousands of models.

I would think that a properly built electric car would accelerate better than a gas powered car. But the problem of the batteries being heavy and the charge being depleted too quickly kills it.

    Default Which One?

Which 12 cylinder Ferrari was the 170 mph Nemesis supposed to "eat?"

    Maybe the 199 mph 612 - nope
How about the 205 mph 599 GTO/GTB - guess not

Well maybe one of the 8 cylinder models, say, the 202 mph 458 Italia - noper

Well maybe it can beat the "slowest" Ferrari, the 193 mph California. No again

Jeez, Ferrari builds some fast cars!

The fact that you're quoting top speed speaks volumes.

Regarding the pollution- in the US, a purely electric car is on average going to get about 60mpg in equivalent carbon footprint. On average meaning using the average source of electricity and the average car. In WV, it's going to be worse (all coal) and Seattle better (more hydro). Driven normally, this particular car would do a little better since it's more aerodynamic.
