    Default Need feedback on printer

Can anyone throw some suggestions out there for me? I am looking for a new All-in-one printer, scan, fax for our home computer.
HP seems to make a fairly nice unit, but would like to hear some suggestions from my fellow Polkies.

    Thanks!

My sister has an Epson workstation that they absolutely love. It does all that you want with wireless printing(so you can put it wherever is convenient) and the ink prices aren't too bad. I think they have the Epson WorkForce 520.

This will actually be a purchase of ours this year for Christmas as well. We have no office to speak of or a desk for that matter, so we need a wireless printer and like having the other functions when needed. Good luck on the purchase!

Target has a 4 day deal (ends today) on an Epson 420 all in one. Normally a $90 printer, now $45. I got one Sunday and really like it a lot.

Edit: Nevermind, I see you want one with a Fax and this one doesn't have Fax capability...

It depends on what your primary use is. For just general stuff like copies, scanning and just general printing (both B&W and color)...HPs are fine. The ones I have are very slow to initially spool up and average in print time...but that said...I have two of them...one all-in-one and one that is just for basic printing.

If you are into printing photos, you should look elsewhere. Canon and Epson are much better for photos than HP...with Canon quite a bit better IMO.

My last HP software was always messed up. Numerous deletions/re-installations--still messed up. Bought a Canon this time, it works perfectly.

What ever you decide on go to (inkproducts.com) and check if they have ink systems or cartridges for it. I have used them for years. I got thier system for my hp printer and its super as I print at least 1,500 pages a month, and pictures as well. By the way my printer uses 5 cartridges for better color pictures.

I also have Canon printers but no scan or copy feature
    s530d, iP2600, iP1800 and also an Epson sylus c120

The HP software does seem convoluted and most of it I don't use but I keep it up to date
so no issues so far...Auto Updates

Good Luck on your search. There probably are alot of deals and sales available

a lot of those multi-function printers are built not to last, I install many of these every year and most of my clients need to replace thiers once every couple of years.

I've installed HP's, Dell's, Canon's, Xerox. The best ones are usually the ones that cost the most. It's just like everything else, the more you spending the greater chance of it lasting longer.

I would look at the cost of the toners and the amount of sheets you get out of the toners and go from there.
