I don't understand ohms in subs and amps at all what are they? Do i need a sub with 4 ohms or two?

it all depends on want you want to achive with the wire.

an ohm is restsitance and this for any electrical cirit to work.

First off, a basic definition of an ohm is a unit of measure the describes the impedance of a circuit in reference to it's resistance to current flow. The lower the number, the less impedance there is in the circuit.

As far as what you need, 4 ohms or 2 ohms, it depends. What is your application? A 4 ohm speaker is pretty much the norm and a 2 ohm speaker will require some more expensive equipment that really is a little beyond the scope of a beginner. So in your best financial and educational interests, I'd say to stick with 4 ohm speakers.

in addition to what Jstas said... the only reason i could see a BEGINNER getting anything other than a 4 ohm speaker, would be if this beginner already had purchased an amplifier that was a 2 channel, and was going to use that 2 channel amp for his subs... knowing it would only put out top power when bridged, that beginner would have to get two 8 ohm subwoofers (or dual 4 ohm coil) in order to make it work right.

otherwise... dont waste your time trying to get different ohm load speakers...

spend your time trying to learn audio... when u've got that down, then u can think about difft ohm speakers...

the main purpose of speakers with other than 4 ohm impedances is to make it possible for people to wire up setups in their vehicle which may nto be the most common, thus requring them to have something different to make it work.
