ipod touch 4g netflix streaming to hdtv

I've seen conflicting reports on whether netflix app on ipod touch works when streamed TO an hdtv (using the component cable from Apple). Anyone try this on their ipod touch 4g. Netflix supposedly added video out capabilities to the app that can be downloaded on the iphone/ipod. I also see some folks saying it only works when using apple's cable and only on the newest ipod touch. Comments?

Works w/ my sister's iPhone4 using the Yamaha iPod dock through her Yamaha receiver - I'd assume the apple video cable would work as well, though I doubt you'll get HD streaming fir the HD content. I have the composite cable, but can't remember if we tried it.

component gives 720p/1080i so I would think that the 720p video shd play well enough on a 720p lcd tv...

Last I heard, it's limited to 480p. Been meaning to test that on iPhone 4.
