    Default Squirrel's in attic Help!

Short of calling someone, I've heard that placing some Moth Balls up where they are, I can get them to leave. After find where they are entering and reinforce area so they can't get back in.

    +1.

If you seal up the entrance they'll just make another one.

It would be easy to build an ultra sonic device that would repel anything including humans when attached to an alarm system. I have been studying ultra sonic devices for a while now

Trap/kill them and seal the hole. If you seal them in they will chew their way out as Face said. Get rid of them ASAP as they will do lots of damage.

12 guage shotgun with #8 shotshells. Be vewwry quiet, we are hunting squirrels. Listen for them to scamper across the ceiling then empty that sumb$tch shotgun at where the sound is coming from. Reload at will and keep firing. You can't let them flank you and get between you and your ammo supply. They are sneaky little devils. Keep reloading and firing until either they are dead or you have no ceiling left for them to play on.

Now see, there's a really simple solution for every problem!

I did think about my 357 or getting a 22, but then a 12 guage would work for sure.

Get a rusty skillet, some grease, flour, rice.
    Bread and fry.
Boil the rice, and make a gravy after frying.
    Got any beer?

Yep it deters bugs too. I am studying ultra sonics at this very moment. My design will be adjustable frequency so it can be tuned to deter different kinds of animals. One source of reference was showing how some stores in the UK use signals lower than 20k outside their stores to deter teenagers(they can hear higher frequencies than us older people) from loitering in front of their stores. After about 10 minutes it gives them a headache. The device could easily be adapted to an alarm system to drive out burglars.

Edit:You could also just buy one pre-made online for cheap.

I had squirrels in my attic a few years back. I rented "Have a Heart Traps" from the local animal shelter. Put peanuet butter in the trap and caught them in no time. You have to re-locate them over a mile away or they will find their way back. Seal up the hole after you get rid of them. Good Luck.

Buy a bottle of bobcat piss, sprinkle generously, no more squirrels.
Oh yeah, you can get .22 shot shells.

I only eat them in stew or chili.
Seriously these do work, and are cheap. Just place in the attic.

C'mon man, with all the other nastys you have crawling around in Florida, your worried about squirrels?

Coyote piss works great too. Or just get a big cat and throw him up there.

    Nothing on Moth Balls?

I'm ok trying the ultrasonic thing but from reviews iffy if that will work or not.

Cats I have two but like them too much and I only dream of what that may do in damage overall. The two of them was looking at me as I wondered what the F they were doing making that noise. They looked at me as we're innocent but will be waiting for it, we're here so when that thing to gets down here don't worry "WE WILL GET IT" look.

I could also look up my x-wife, she pretty much scares anything that walks or crawls away. For a 6-pack, she'd be there in a heartbeat.

The insulation in the attic should filter out the ultra sonics so your cats should not be bothered.

+1 on the air rifle in .22 caliber. You can take out the squirrels, and your neighbors won't be freaked out. That or if you have a 22lr you can look into subsonic rounds that will serve the same purpose.

Hmmm....good point. Ask her to come back and get her crap. The squirrels will hear her, run for the hills, then you plug the hole, it's a win-win. Well, you have to get her to leave then....throw a $20 out the front door and slam it shut when she grabs it.

Love guns so this isn't a statement against them, but this idea isn't a good one. If you shoot them in the belly (very likely) they will run for a while longer and hide in some crevice. Then when they die inside your home it will smell like crazy. You will then have to tear your walls apart looking for the carcass.

I had the same problem Steve. The only remedy is to get a pro to trap them and get rid of them. Then get extra thick chicken wire cover the entrances with double layers and then patch them up. Once those tree rats start finding a cozy place, it takes a pro to get rid of them.

I had a simialr problem with mice, but may as well have been squirrels as they were so loud. Our pest control guys verified it was mice and then baited the crap out of the attic.

I also got a product called Shake-Away, which contains fox urine. It's granular, so I sprinkled some on some paper plates and placed them in the attic (big walk up attic). I also sprinkled some around the perimeter of the house. It does smell but since the attic is closed up we cannot smell anything.

Anyway, since then I have not heard a noise (knock on wood). If you want to check out the fox urine stuff:

    http://shake-away.com/

    Good luck.
