What advice do you need in setting it up?

Is there something not in the manual that you'd like our help on?

That system will be better than what 90% of the people in whatever town you live in own. Welcome to real home theater.

nothing to brainy to be concerned about regarding hook ups, follow the basic instructions and layout. Thats a very balanced system you got there.

on the back of my sub theres an option for phase(0 or 180) what does that mean? which one should i select. and generally what is the ideal position of sub in the room?

thats going to sepend on your room. Subs can be funny things they way they work in different rooms. play around with the setting and see what you like. try the extremes (0, then full 180) If you dont notice a difference, that means the phase has no bearing on your room. If it makes a significant difference, welcome to tweaking something to optimize the best sound. It will consume you.

either way play around and enjoy it......whatever the setting you leave it on will not be a huge gamechanger.

if i wanted to play 3D movie on this system. what things do i need? the receiver says that it supports hdmi version 1.4a so this means its 3d compatible, do i need a 3D projector or just a simple projector?

please tell all the things i need.

Ijay, everything you need will have to be 3D compatible from your Blu Ray Player, the Movie and the TV or Projector you will use....the good news is you have the receiver already.

Plus, you will require some fancy glasses to boot. Go over to your nearest Best Buy just to have a look. At the very least you can get a better idea of how it works.

The good news if you buy a 3D compatible TV (usually an LED - 240Hz) is that it also gives a spectacular image when you are viewing 2D 1080P.

    Congrats.

Hook everything up and run the Audysey setup. After the setup, make sure all speakers set to small.

Also, make sure the Audysey mic is at listening level. I used a tripod.

The only thing that was confusing to me is that I have a 5.1 setup with 2 speakers in the back, but you have to set those up as sides.
