Default Crossover mod - Polk Audio Monitor 30 II

I've been reading through various posts on here about crossover mods and have become extremely interested.

I have a pair of Polk Audio Monitor 30 II speakers that I want to build new crossovers for. I have a pretty extensive knowledge of audio components, but crossover design is new to me.

Has anyone else modded these speakers? My goal is simply to obtain better clarity and definition.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm in no rush to complete this, I want to get completely comfortable with what I'm doing before I begin tearing things apart.

    Thanks,
    Wahl

Is this essentially what I will be creating?

Not a lot in the Polk archives for Monitor 30 crossovers

    but just curious, Wahl:
are you looking to just get your feet wet, so to speak, on doing a crossover mod project ?
The Monitor 30's won't, IMO, necessarily reflect the time or energy or moolah or results on a crossover mod that you would get on a different project. That's just my opinion, of course.
They are excellent speakers for rear surrounds as is out of the box, especially so in a budget-minded system. Price/performance ratio is A++, IMO.
I believe Polk has tweaked this little guys to their max performance already.

Usually right, but sometimes not entirely factually correct.

I'm just looking to get my feet wet on this project. I still wouldn't mind rebuilding these crossovers, this is more of a learning experience anyway.

I really enjoy the sound of these speakers, but I'm craving a bit more definition.

I have a pair of ADS 570's, but they don't fit in my room, so that's where these Monitor 30's come into play. I wouldn't mind pushing these little speakers to see what they can do. There's always room for improvement.

It seems that these crossovers are a bit more complicated than a basic second order crossover, which is where I'm stuck at on understanding what exactly is going on in the Monitor 30's.

Is there a website where I can get a schematic for these crossovers?

    Thanks again,

    Wahl
