    Default !onkyo tx-nr808 receiver settings!

Hi, I recently purchased an Onkyo TX-NR808 receiver and cannot find the option in the setup menu for "LARGE" or "SMALL" Speakers. Does anyone know how to access it. I also have been reading up on crossover frequencies for my RTi A9's, CSi A6, and F/Xi A6 Speakers. After all the reading I am still unsure as to a safe crossover for these speakers. I also have a Polk DSW PRO 660wi (wired), which I need to assign a crossover to on the Onkyo. If anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tavo

How are you liking the 808 thus far ?
I'm in between that and a Pioneer Vsx-1120-k . Right now the 808 is about $200 more.

I just got it in December, I actually replaced an 806 which stopped working (left channels). I plan to get it repaired. I got mine at Frys, but found it cheaper online and received a store refund back from frys for the difference. Cost about $650 after refund. So far so good, I have had 3 Onkyo receivers and 1 Denon. I preffered the Onkyo's, although the Denons weren't bad. Never had a Pioneer, but they were nice back in the day. Thanks for the link, I shall read it.

It isn't large or small. You set the crossover for it, and that determines the frequencies set to it.

Thats the whole point of large/small. It just limits the low pass filter.... full range, 40/50/60 hz etc etc

According to Hoosierbronco, the Onkyo TX-NR808 receiver gives you the option of either "FULLBAND" (this would automatically be LARGE-you cannot change the frequency-blacked out). If you do not select "FULLBAND", you would than have the option of selecting the frequencies, this would automatically be the "SMALL". This makes sense and thankful for information. Also, I have my DSW PRO 660wi Subwoofer hardwired with an RCA cable (from sub-out on Onkyo) to the LFE input of the subwoofer. This is the preffered hookup according to Polk. With this setup it disables the "LOW PASS FILTER SWITCH" (the black knob) on the back of the subwoofer and strictly relies on the settings of the Onkyo Receiver. What I don't understand, is why the setup menu only allows the setting to go down to 80Hz. In other words, I cant set my subwoofer to 60Hz. Am looking at the wrong setup menu or is that the way it is? I am puzzled in that department. So whats your take on the crossover settings for RTI A9'S/CSI A6-CENTER/FXI A6 REARS and the subwoofer? THANKS TAVO
