I find that my 1.2tls can also be somewhat unforgiving on certain material, mainly heavy metal.

I knew that the electronics would not support the new LsiMs. I need to start from scratch.

Russ, do you see a synergy between Audio Research gears and LSiM? Or it's just a matter of what they have? A Krell, Cinenova, or MF would do the same level of synergy?

Thanks for the review, btw. Can't wait to audition a set of 707, hopefully a local Magnolia would carry them soon.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I don't have Cinenova experience, but newer Krell and MF and right at the 'level' of fidelity I'm talking about, and should gel up great with the LSiM.

There certainly was synergy in the Polk room. We ran a Wadia source, and AR Reference series pre and amp, PS Audio power conditioner, and Audioquest Colorado cables.

No solid date disclosed to me, based on what I know, I would say look for April/May.

I have zero info on who will carry them.

Nice to see Polk back into high end. Have to agree with Russ's comments though. Don't expect to hook these bad boys up to a midline receiver and expect greatness. Higher end speakers in general will display all your systems faults including source material. Just curious if these will be available to demo at the usual polk outlets ? Kudo's to Polk for hitting one out of the park.

    Russ,

Interesting post expanding upon your inital impressions... As you have time...

For us "spec"-ies in the crowd... what's being quoted for the main ones, i.e., -3dB FR, efficiency, nominal impedance.

I also read Roamingrasta's post with interest. What are your impressions of:
    - imaging/ staging? are they placement finicky?; and
    - versatility across musical genres? acoustic vs. electronic?

Man, Polk seems to be really playing hard to the audiophile market here. I love all the luxury upgrades added to these speakers. And, I can't wait to see how the new midrange driver integrates with the highs and lows.

It is currently covered by a "don't ask, don't tell policy". This will soon be followed by an "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" policy.

I can't wait to hear them.

The oblong woofers are used to keep the speaker cabinet slim.
