Looking at room treatments for HT

Thought I'd ask some of the members who have already made the plunge into the often overlooked arena of using sound treatment panels and traps in their HT room. Have checked out some of the packages that Ethan at RealTraps sells, and the panels and traps at GIK Acoustics. I'm open to checking out other lines if they can be recommended. For the Bass Traps, definitely will go for the panel design instead of foam(which is cheaper,I know,lol)

Yes since the room is arguably the most important component ,properly treating it can be some of the best bang for the buck improvements one can make.Mine are all DIY with info garnered in part from the principals of both companies mentioned

Both companies offer very effective products,even if Ethan is a bit of a over the top audio extremist type.

look into a avr w/the internal audessy system , it flatens your speakers fixes phase problems and fixes your room .

I have been really impressed with the corner traps and acoustic panels i got from GIK acoustics.

Audyssey is a great system ,but it can only do so much right? What GIK corner traps and panels did you go with Jason?

I installed some panels from ATS Acoustic in Illinois. The prices were cheaper than I could build them and the quality is pretty darn good. Best of all, they work.

I have__ checked out the panels from ATS Acoustic online, and they definitely are more affordable than some of the others. It sounds like ATS uses a solid back panel and the fiberglass or rock wool absorption panel is contained ,they don't show any back side pics on the site. I like that they are Made in the USA:)

you are correct polkie2009 I think audessy is only a 4db gain or 4 db drop but iI THINK it is on a 512 band eq .
So a massive problem cant be fixed by it but I think it could solve quite a few problems and since a ?350? denon avr comes with it it should help a lot , but as you mentioned it can always use more (it never ends) ..
