Not bad...enjoy them..they are one of the SDA's that I think I could convince the wife to let me get in the office (with some slight mod's to the color).

Let us know how it goes!

Thanks, I have no need for them but they were close and reasonable price. Plan to rework them with wood vineer, tweeters, dynamat, caps and resistors.

I need to search the TL conversion but the search feature is no cooporating.

Looks good Tracy. I enjoyed them, stock, when I had them here. Not quite as laid back as 1Cs, but wider. Surprising bass into the 30s. I thought they imaged better than 1Cs, but you've modded yours and I haven't.

Thanks Ron, Once I have had my way with them I will compare to the 1Cs.

You really need to mod your 1Cs.

The more my sources, cables and tubes improve the 1Cs improve.

I know. I've got 2 pairs of SDAs sitting idle right now. Just haven't had the time to reconfigure the living room space into a 2 channel room and with my 3rd granddaughter being born yesterday, it doesn't look like it's going to happen soon. I've had it setup and torn down a couple of times. One of these days...another problem is the HT room is now better for music with conventional LS90s in there. They work better than SDAs with my furniture arrangement. So rather than stress, I just pop music in there when I can (not too often anymore).

I have a nice pair of these. They are great. I've been putting off the x-over upgrade but added a set of rings.

As soon as I finish upgrading my Maggies the CRS +'s will get done.

    Enjoy!

Larry had enough rings so good to go there.

Houston connection retrieved speakers today so good to go there.

Still need to get them to Dallas and need stands.

Thanks for all the encouragement. I am tempted to give them to my son. We set up a new Shure 97 cart on his TT lastnight.

I have an old HK receiver that might work with the CRS.

He has had a lot of problems growing up but seems to finally be getting on track. I figured working of the CRS's would be a good project for us to do something together.

I was looking at these myself... Glad a CP'er and a local to boot snagged them.

Nice pickup Tracy. Nice little system you're putting together for your son. I need to develop some handyman skills so that I can do a project like this with my son when he gets older.

It's been a few years since I've been to Houston, but I swear it's like a 4-5 hour drive from Dallas.

From Plano to Humble should be about 3.5-4 hours. NO biggie as my grandson lives in Conroe and in-laws near Clear Lake so there is always someone coming or going to Houston.

Certainly a lot closer than driving to Phoenix like I did to pick up my first pair of 1Cs that PSOVLSK has now.

MY son does not know what I have in mind and his birthday is early February.

You will be floored at what the 4.1 TL upgrade will do for the CRS's

It's not a small tweek,it's a huge step up...I'm upgrading a pair of 1C's at the moment, and I'm wondering just how well they will compare to the modded CRS's.

A great father/son project to boot.

Well, thanks to gimpod and google I now have plans to make the stands. Making them will be best as it will allow more father/son time.

Nice pick-up, Tracy. I was also watching those, though with no real thought of bidding (too far, no desire to have them shipped). They look to be cherry - very sweet.

This thread may help - the crossover upgrade is identical:
