This is my first post on this forum so if I have missed the answer to my questions in a thread somewhere please dont flame me :)
OK here goes:
I am located in Singapore and have been offered a pair of sda srs 1.2s at a very reasonable price. The condition is a bit weak (one tweeter blown, case cosmetics 6 out of 10) but the guy only wants 600 US$ for them which seems like a good value considering the price they make in the states.
I want to build a home theater setup in my new house but since I am spending all my money on the house (and then some) my wife will kill me if I drop 5000 US$ on the audio for the home theater rig. "think of the beautiful refrigerator we could have had " she will say!
As a result I am not going to be able to go out and buy a hard core bi amp setup etc etc and I am going to have to get by with my Yamaha RXV 2095 receiver and other hardware.
The question I have is: will a 100 watt per channel receiver be able to do these speakers justice? This is one of yamahas top of the range products but still......
From the number of threads I see mentioning 1000w per channel systems I start to worry that I may be asking a bit too much of this receiver.
From the reviews I have read the speakers seem to have a great big sound field which seems like it would be ideal for home theater use and honestly the price is low enough that it is not a hellish risk, but some opinions would be great, especially from someone with direct experience with this kind of setup.
Thanks in advance,
Dennis
