Default My left SDA2 is rattling :(

So, I've got the same problem this guy did - http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/show...ng+cabinet+sda

I don't like digging up old threads, so I figured I'd start my own.

If I grab the back of the cabinet slightly below mid-level, the rattling stops. If I just hold my hand there, I can feel air being forced out of the cabinet. Note that this is only truely noticible at high volumes, but I'm sure it's effecting the sound at lower volumes too.

Since I'm about to tear into them to install my rings, I figured now would be a good time to fix this. Suggestions? Just a bead of glue on the inside?

Interesting... In both of my speakers, the front baffle and the top and bottom of the sides have quarter round cut wood glued to the two joining pieces. However, the back panel does not. I wonder if they figured it'd be good enough, considering most of the vibration is on the front baffle.

I think I'll add the quarter-round to the back baffle with some new glue, and that should fix it up (with clamps on everything until it dries, of course). Certainly will be more elegant than my current solution, which is a big-ass clamp affixed to the back of the speaker at all times.

Adding the quarter round should definitely help. Had the same issue with a set of monitor 7s and quarter round did the trick.

I clamped the cab straight then added the quarter round. It has held up for years now..

I also tacked the quarter to the cab so it would dry super tight. I don't have a clamp that reaches in the cabinet like that.
