    Default Room Size Question

The polk web site has a series of recommend RTI A systems at http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/rtia/systems.php. Each system is rated for a room size category (small, medium, large). Does Polk have some definitions for these categories?

    Thanks

Hey brad, welcome to Club Polk...

I suggest you give Polk CS a call for the official take, but I'll venture a guesstimate.

Medium: around 1000 -1200 cu ft and enclosed, i.e., doors close openings, like a 10x12x8 ft spare bedroom.

Large: say 1500 - 1700 cu ft with maybe one opening like a 2x15x9 ft basement HT with stairwell.

Very large: 2000 cu ft+ with openings galore to halls, loft, etc.; think modern "Great Room" with cathedral ceiling open to the kitchen, etc.

Got a feeling I'm on the low side, but let me know how close I got...

Thank Tour. I followed (in part at least) your advice and sent email to Polk customer support as for their guidelines. I will let you know what I get back.
