    Default Jolida JD-801S

This is a direct buy from Jolida.net. Arrived directly from China in perfect physical condition. I purchased the amp on a Thursday and it was on my porch on the following Wednesday. Impressive.

Just a few days worth of listening thus far so neither I nore the amp are ready to go greatly in-depth on that front. Initial impressions are that this produces a very smooth and easy listening experience. Vocals and acoustic instruments are a delight to listen to; detailed and very pleasing. I haven't yet tried out any of my harder rock records.

THUS FAR, this is the most musically pleasing source of power I've owned or listened to. Every aspect of the frequency range is coherent and pleasant. Regarding comments on frequency: nothing jumps out at me as being particularly noteworth, save for a brief comment on the bass below. As I said the entire range is a delight to listen to.

Bass is rich and rounded. Bass doesn't seem quite as deep or powerful as either of my solid state amps (NAD C272 & Emotiva XPA-2). Not quite. Just as enjoyable however in the grand scheme of things. This could change with tube rolling and break-in I suppose.

I wouldn't trust the easy bias system, whereby you adjust the bias pots until the led lights illuminate. Upon taking measurements I discovered that these lights can illuminate while being 20-30mv off of suggested setting. I strongly suggest using a measurement device to dial in your appropriate bias setting.

I can't take my eyes off of the glowing tubes and the amp in general. So much more cool to view than the solid state equipment I've used.

Remote control is that same hardcore, heavy metal and ball bearing design that comes with the JD 100A that many here might be familiar with. Very nice.

Sorry about the rat's nest of cables in the pictures. I'll clean it up in due time.

My experience suggests that a "buy with confidence" recommendation is an appropriate conclusion to draw here. The packaging, delivery time, sound, look, price ... highest of grades across the board.

Just reading up on this unit and sounds like a solid performer.

Realize you got the unit and after burn in you notice differences.

If you find yourseld wanting to roll tubes I highly recommend the Treasure KT88 and 6sn7s.
