Default Which Polk speakers should I get for small apartment living room

I just moved in into a small 1 bed room apartment for school, and I want to have a surround sound system. I know any home theater is not a good idea if you live in an apartment, but I really want one and am willing to compromise. The main issue is that the walls are not insulated well especially in the living room area. For example I can hear my neighbor shouting cause he plays a lot COD. My other neighbor doesn't really make to much noise. I am looking for some Polk speakers to match a Onkyo 608 to utilize its Audessey to be able experience the surround sounds dynamics at low volumes. I was looking at a pair of tsi200 for the fronts and tsi100's for the rears and a cs10 for the center. For the sub i would use the Polk Psw111. I am wondering if these speakers would be too loud for my apartment.Of course I would be considerate and not play it at loud at night. Should I downgrade the tsi200's to tsi100's or does the size of the speaker even determine the loudness?

I forgot to also ask another important question. Do you to play the volume of these speakers to a certain level to get the most out of them?

Tsi200 is a great speaker, and I would stick with those. The setup your putting together would be nice, so I'd go for it. As for volume level just be respectful of the neighbors on both sides. Even though the sound in my HT can go up to ear blowing levels, I don't play that loud. I guess volume level is a preference sort of thing.

Are you still able to experience the dynamics of the TSi200 at such volumes, because I feel like I will have to turn down the volume considerably especially the base. And would the Audessey calibration on my receiver improve that aspect with the Dynamic Volume setting on? Thanks for the reply

Not sure what they retail for but the new Blackstone TL3 five-pack package and a nice Polk DSW sub would be a fine space saving option for your room as L.... suggests above. These new satellites are unlike 'any' Polk has offered before and feature the higher end ring-radiator tweeter that is very similar to the tweeters used in Polk's flagship speaker line?

ya you definitely have to look into the new Blackstone TL series. I've personally experienced the TL250 with a PSW111 sub in my father-in-law's huge living room and it was shockingly good for something so tiny :)

space and room is not an issue. I guess my goal is to get the best sound in a small apartment without being disrespectful to my neighbors. Basically want I want to know now that several people have brought it up is the difference between bookshelf speakers like the tsi200 vs satellite speakers like the TL250. Does one sound better than the other, and does one sound better at lower volumes than the other? Again i would like to take into account the Audyssey Dynamic Volume on a Onkyo 608 which basically allows a listener to listen to their home theater at lower volumes without losing sound dynamics like the surround speaker and the subwoofer

i live in an apartment and I would buy as big as your budget allows. I have monitor 60s r300, cs2, and psw 10, but my neighbors never hear it. unless u plan on staying there forever it gets costly upgrading over and over.

You have proposed a fine combination. Another option is to take a quick look at your local craigslist for used systems. They are very wallet friendly and you would be surprised how many people "upgrade" to smaller speakers based on space. Good luck
