The new DSW Pro Wi series subs are pretty nice. I would get at least a 550wi if not the 660wi. I was considering the 440wi but ended up going with the 550wi. It is a nice sub.

    Default Sub choice

After reading more I would like advice,
    12x24 insulated room
    58 Samsung plasma
    Front/RTiA7
    Center/CsiA6,A4??
    Surround/RC85i in wall
    Surround back/RC80i in ceiling
    Sub/DSWpro500,DSWpro660wi??
Please give me any suggestions you might have.
Is the A6 overkill on the front???
The 660 looks appealing with remote??

That's a big room. I'd stick with the A6 , and go with HSU, Epik or SVS sub. For receiver I would use Pioneer Elite SC 25 or 35, which would be plenty power.

I am way over budget already, would like to take advantage of Polk US$299 credit on sub. Which Polk sub is best under $600 retail?
Onkyo 708 $599 w/pre outs, internet radio, looks inviting, what would you folks recommend?

    DSW PRO 660WI $599

I went with the 550wi because I have a small appartment and didnt have the room for the larger sub. The 440,550,660 subs have twice the wattage rating than of the regular dsw pro series. The micro subs are probably the top of the line for polk they have huge 1000+ watt rms ratings but they are expensive. A smaller higher powered sub is not nessessarly better than a lower powered larger driver. Larger drivers play lower you cant make it up by throwing more power at it.

I went with a polk sub for the same reason. The 300 dollar credit. A polk dsw pro 550wi for 199 or a 660wi for 299 is a great price and deffinatly worth the cash.

I have the Onkyo TX-NR808 and am happy with it. The internet radio is a pretty neat feature. Also the ability to program the remote for other devices using the internet to seach based of manufactures modle numbers is nice as well.

I'm playing with the 550wi right now. No limitations going on here, it's showing very favorably to an equal powered 12" sub. The wireless versions seem to have been given more power than the corded counterparts. The wireless adapter has been flawless. VERY impressive features for a $500 sub.

I've heard the DSW Pro 600 fill a very large room with ease, and without getting boomy.

What is the size of your room? That is a better indicator of what sub to buy.....no point in buying an 8" sub to fill a 30'x40' room. I was leery of a 10" being adequate in my ~25x15 room, I'm reconsidering my stance on that currently. lol

Not sure what the sub output voltage is on the Denon, but you should be just fine. People split the signal to run multiple subs routinely.

Crutchfield or any authorized polk dealer was running a special. If you buy 499 or more in polk home speakers you got a free psw111 subwoofer, or a 299 credit twards a better one. I think the sale is over now though.

I got my DSW PRO550wi when I bought my two RTI A7 towers from crutchfield. I dont see the promotion on there web page any more.

Yep - I totally missed that when I bought the LSi9s. If I'd added the 111 to the cart, I'd have gotten it free. Oh well.
