I wish someone would comment on this too. I'm picking up a pair today, but I would like to see what other think. I'm making the Polk RTi A7's my rear speakers. Therefore, it might not matter much.

I hear people saying that they are on the bright side as far as sound goes for music.

Probably not a lot of people have both of those. The RTiA7 is a nice speaker though. You should be happy with it.

Is there a reason why you think a lot of people don't have the Polk RTi A7's? They are not terribly expensive.

Yeah, I would say they are for a surround application. Consider the size too, in a smallish room it would be hard to situate big floorstanders. Add in furniture and space gets cramped quickly. Also not as much detailed sound is routed to the surrounds, music is a different story of coarse, so for HT, in most cases it may be over kill. Then add the WAF, and you will get a nice comfy pillow on the couch to use.
I would rather spend the coin on dual subs, matching subs, up front than on a huge speaker for surround duty, thats just me though.

I believe what was meant is that a lot of people probably don't have a set of each... not separately.
