No joy w/ comp/tunes

Hi guys, Sorry to sound like a broken record but here's a negative update to my ongoing problem.As per some of you guys suggested to use 3 pronge plugs in to the devices and by process of eliminatation something should give. Well I went to Home Depot and picked up a bunch of the adapters ,rewired and labeled all plugs. NOTHING, THE ORIGINAL HUM is still there which means it's either the cable it self, the length, or the splitter. I do have 2 more splitters coming and not thinking I should of laid the cable out before securing it.I really hope this isn't a lost cause, I would like some tunes from a different source FM RADIO in NY really sucks....Thanks for the input ,I tried but hum is here to stay........LW

Shot in the dark here but have you tried different input on the receiver. Might be worth a shot. I have a denon 988 and use the ipod input without any problems.

50' of RCA is quite a bit. Seems highly suspect as the cause, but I'm no tech. I'm sure others will weigh in. I know that a long time ago, I bought a cheap (~30-40 bones) 15' RCA and had the exact same problem. I run lots of long distance cables now but theyre all digital (HDMI and DVI-D @ 50' and 80') and theyre about an inch thick. I imagine anaolg is even harder to pass over that distance without some serious cable, not to mention proper shielding if passing by electronics or electric.

Most likely the 50' runs of RCA. That is a heckuva long run. Get some two meter cables and repeat the process and see if you get the hum.

You REALLY need XLR to do this.

You need to run a digital signal over that long of a run.

Sounds like the best option for him. A 50 ft run of rca cable won't cut it. Go wireless, or digital.
