Default Need Help With Installing Replacement Tweeter in Monitor 40

Hi all. I am writing in the hope that someone can answer what is likely an easy/newb question (I did search the forum, and couldn't find an answer on this). I received a replacement tweeter for my Monitor 40 from Polk, but it came with no instructions as to installation. Specifically, my question is how does one disconnect the wires from the old blown tweeter - they are attached with a little metal coupling that has a vise like grip, and no amount of pulling with pliers will get this coupling off. Do I need to cut the wire, purchase and attach a new coupling/harness? Or, is there a way to use this original coupling?

    Thanks for your help.

can you post some pics? If they are slip on clips I suggest a pair of needle nose pliers and pull and move side to side.

Pics would help since I have not seen your speakers.

I have posted some pics. You can see in one of them that I was able to get one of the clips free from the old tweeter, but that is only because I broke off the mount from the speaker (and a small piece remains in the clip). Let me know if you need more images, or any other info. Thanks for your help.

They just pull off, they're on very tight. i've done it before, just be patient and use good pliers.
