Default Who makes best electric ranges under $1500?

My parents want to replace their electric range with a new one.

Must be stainless steel with black accents to match their kitchen.

What brands and specific models should I suggest to them, saying under $1500 real world price, ideally $1000 - $1200, or under $1000 if possible.

What specific features should I be looking for, who makes most reliable ranges, and any specific stainless steel models that look particularly stylish?

    Thanks in advance.

All range manufacturers, just like audio makers, have different ranges of gas/electric ranges - there are cheap ones, more expensive ones, really expensive ones, etc. Obviously, more expensive ones will have more features, whether or not you really need them. One example would be Kenmore vs. Kenmore Elite - Elite series have better build, more features, sometimes better warranty, etc.

We bought a KitchenAid stove, albeit gas, a few months ago. Very solid construction, has tons of features, such as convection oven with several modes, warming drawers, etc etc. Wife loves it. It was a $2100 stove. We were able to find it on sale for several hundred dollars less.

Wow! I don't have anything to add other than my GE range was like new for $30 (thirty) at an estate auction.

I have a Kitchen aid electric, convection oven and all the gadgets. Been solid for 10 years so far. Now watch, since I gave it kudos, it'll blow up next week.

About 75% of the Kenmores are made by Whirlpool.

Which probably holds for many manufacturers. Even grates for our KitchenAid have Whirlpool model number :). I know for sure, our Kenmore Elite dishwasher has some Whirlpool-marked parts in it. Globalization at its best?

I've been using a Whirlpool $375 range for 13yrs. and it's still working. I think anything over $700 today is over kill.

GE Profile. Cheap as Chips and works great. We paid like 400 and love it.
