    Default Return of the Acura Integra....I mean, the RSX

    Some have mentioned the all-new 2012 Honda Civic Si coupe resembled the long departed Acura RSX. I guess Honda heard that and decided to bring back the RSX coupe (and the Integra name, I hope)....

    Before most automakers had any interest in the compact premium segment, Acura launched the Integra, and then the RSX. A car that was perhaps ahead of its time, the RSX is set to make a comeback.

    A Motor Trend reports cites sources claiming the next-gen RSX will get the new 201-hp 2.4-liter Civic Si engine, mated to a six-speed manual and a limited slip differential. It will also get Acura?s more angular styling (none of which comes as a surprise).

    A brand distinctly short on coupes, Acura is reportedly also developing a larger 2-door that will be powered by the company?s new plug-in hybrid system, but mated to a V6 rather than the 4-cylinder engine Honda has been showing off.

    As many as three other coupes may also joint the lineup, with the MT report mentioning another C-Segment coupe, as well as the next-generation NSX, which is now rumored to use a 400-hp V8 engine. In addition, there are continued rumors about more potent version of the CR-Z.

    Had one at the folks dealership here in Japan. Took it out for a test drive, what an insane car. Handled great, and can take off at the drop of a dime. This one had a few mods on it, very nice performance. Not much room in the cabin for a big guy like myself, but it was still comfortable.

    always liked the integra, never was a huge fan over the rsx. great luxuries for a sport compact, great powerplant, but the car was just too much of a pig for me. the first year for the 6 speed had 2nd and 3rd gear issues. i would have liked to have had one, but for the price point at that time (concealer404 will agree) i would have taken a celica gt-s over the rsx-s. hopefully if they bring the rsx back they redo a few things.

    the new "nsx" looks pretty good. has that supercar look, but i wonder if it will handle "supercars" of its same price point. the old $90k rsx was a nice car, looked amazing, mid engine design, and handling was amazing. but at 90k after driving it i felt it was an overpriced corvette with better suspension lol.

    they need a more "potent" version of the cr-z. cr-z si perhaps? id like to see a k24 mated with a 6 speed in the cr-z. if not, give it a few years, a swap will be easily done and all conversion parts will be readily available for the low price tag of $10k lol

    I like that Honda is figuring out the idea of torque by going up to 2.4 liter engines. Cars like the S2000 are nice but you don't leave a stop light at 9000 rpm. Cars can be fun driving under 35 mph around town when you have the torque to get up and move when you want to, not just on the track. Lets see if Acura can get back in the game.
