carver pm 1.5 for my rti12's

i want to use carver pm 1.5 to drive my rti12's ,is this ok to use ,i have currently a m1.0t which works great,but i want more of a thunderous sound out of rti12's

The PM amps can be a little noisy....

I used the M1.5ts with my RTis for awhile and was happy with it until I wanted one big amp for my whole HT. Then I went with Sunfire and have never looked back.

so i just bought , will tell you how it goes. have to buy xrl or trs to rca,which is a better connection.

Well, I got a PM1.5 before. You'll be presently surprised by it if it's working the way it should. Some got abused before when used in the PA environment so hopefully yours not one of those. It sounds like every other Carver M1.x series I've had too.

As for the adapters, I think XLR to RCA adapter offers a better fit.

I would stop worrying and just wait for it to shows up. I don't know how loud you listen but rti12s are quite sensitive speakers and M1.0 was plenty loud for me.

Why are you doing the adapters at all? I thought the PM1.5 has rca input I could be wrong though, its been awhile since I was looking at carver amps.

no rca inputs , just a 2 1/4 trs and 2 xlr conections. I got xlr adapters.

Also, if you want the 12's to pack more of a punch, play with the crossover settings in the receiver so they take more of the low end.

alright tested one of my pm 1.5 , i have two , one for lsic , one for main, the other pm is getting recondition by rolland at car. it will be for my rti12s. the one i tested is for my center . ok man i thought the 1.0 made them come alive a bit, this amp rocks, these speakers sing now. they have more bass and clearity as ever . the rti12's rock with 450wpc 8ohm. i have a onkyo nr708, volume goes to 99 i only have to rock it at 60-70 .

That looks like a beast of an amp. I am presently working on a portable PA/music system that has a Carver PM-950 which is rated 325Wpc 2ch 8 ohms 475Wpc 2ch 4 ohms, 950W mono 8 ohms. Once I am sure it is trustworthy (no nasties on the output) I may hook it up to my stereo just for kicks.

yes please post!!!! i just bought one of these on ebay for little less than 250$ the owner was carver amp repair man who tricked out the amp and upped some of components. Cant wait. Did your make the popping sound when powering it off like what i have read of other carver pm 1.5 amps? ill be getting mine in a few days

ok the trick is when you power on and off to avoid popping sound is when powering make sure you have the volume off, start from left flip power on ,main, clipping and then turn up volume with knobs .powering off turn down volume then clipping, main, power off.

by the way just upgraded to a boston acoustics vs 325c center.

quick question how did you set the gain level on your pm 1.5 amp? did you max the gain then do your calibration using your receiver? I have the onkyo 3007 receiver that im using as a pre amp and i want to run the audessey setup on it but im not sur where i should set the gain at. thanks

i put it up all the way , i have it set on audyssey.
