Default Need advice on older Samsung DLP

So I just happened to check out CL free ads today, which I do once every 6 months or so, and a local guy posted that he had a free 40" Samsung DLP and a free Broyhill sectional, both items we have on our list for the new place. I go out there and am able to snag both before anyone else shows up.

I started asking him about the TV (which turned out to be 50") and he told me there was an issue with the fan in the back. He said it was like a $40 part, but he is moving to Atlanta and doesn't feel like messing with it. I got it home and took a closer look and the issue is with the color wheel. The TV is now black and white and makes a horrible sound when the bulb kicks on, not when the fan kicks on.

From what I can tell, this is roughly a $150 part. Is it worth the money to fix it? I'm pretty sure we are going to do it, but just wanted a little input if any. The model is HLN5065W.

The early Samsung color wheel bearings went out and is most like the cause of the noise.

If $150 is all it takes and bulb last at least a year then yes, otherwise no.
