Default Hitmaster Banner from Vegas - Githens Center Donation

Karma, yes and no. Read on.

This was given to me by Steve Odenheimer, the regional sales rep for Polk Audio, and generally a bad ass dude. This is the BIG banner that flanked the Hitmaster during shows in Vegas and other venues. It measures over 6ft wide and 6ft tall, and is two-sided. The same print is on both sides. It's heavy vinyl, with eye bolts for easy mounting / hanging.

This would be a KILLER edition to a gameroom, or garage pub, or for any fan of the Hitmaster and all things Polk. This is a VERY RARE item, your buddies won't have this, and they will gawk at it everytime they come visit.

RULES: READ THIS AND PAY ATTENTION

This will be an online auction, right here, in this thread. Do NOT post in this thread unless you are placing a bid. The banner will be shipped FREE courtesy of Polk Audio to the LOWER 48 AND CANADA ONLY. The proceeds will go directly to the forum's un-official, yet official charity, The Githens Center. Contact me directly for the address to send the winning money order to, should you be the winning bid. If you are not aware of what the Githens Center is, or why we are fans, search in the Flea Market for record sales from George Grand.

Polk Audio is not affiliated with this offering, nor collecting the proceeds - you will send your winning bid directly to the charity, and provide proof of such.

Open to ALL forum members, but shipping may be held until donation has been verified, depending on tenure and participation on Club Polk.

The bidding will start at $25. Post your bid in THIS thread and THIS thread only. The bidding will close at 11:59pm CST this Friday night (the 21st). The highest bid wins, no minimum for bid increments. It doesn't matter if the thread gets closed on time, whatever I see on MY screen, at 11:59 CST as the highest bid wins. YOU MAY NOT RESELL THIS ITEM. If you tire of it for some reason, please offer it as a free karma back on this forum.

You may include text in your post, but please pay attention, and be CLEAR of your bid.

    Now, do I hear $25?

I only bid with less than one minute on the auction so I can win and piss people off :) J/K. I cannot bid as I'm broke as....well...as I've ever been - but I support the cause! Good luck!

The word is sixty bucks...if you want it, that's where the bid is at.

The initial post has been updated, to include FREE shipping to Canada also, so Canadian Polkies may put their tuques in the ring.

The bidding stands thus far at $60 with TroyD in the lead.

Russ, in order to lessen any confusion, how about the check gets made out to The Githens Center, and they mail it to me? The entire purchase price will be tax deductible as well. I'll notify you or Polk upon receipt of the check, and hand carry it to Githens with all the others.

    I APPRECIATE THIS POLK AUDIO!

Thanks Russ. Hopefully this does not create issues with shipping to Canada (double check with Mark). In any way, just to make sure we are covered, the bid is now up at 125$. While this is a Polk exclusive item, it is also for a good cause.

George, am I correct to assume the bid winner will be able to paypal the donation?

Canadian players will have to pay with a green, Canadian Postal Money Order, or a check for the winning amount payable in US dollars. I hate to cast a pall on this thing but I have had a lot of trouble with foreign checks. Too many fees get charged, and according to a couple places I bank with, a $100 check MIGHT get me $25 after those fees. So the money order is best because I can get those cashed no questions asked at a US Post Office. If the MO is made out to me. I don't think a MO made out to The Githens Center can be cashed at the PO by a Githens employee. They probably just have an account at the bank.

I will write a check to Githens in the winning amount if that is the case. Canadian players would not benny from the tax deduction anyhow.

    NOW bid away.

    135 USD!

Cmon guys, this is a good cause and would you let a Canuck kicking US Polkies butts?

George, no issue what so ever with the comments on your post as I would make sure it is in USD and no cost for cashing if successfull bid (afterall, the max $$$ should go to the Githens Center as it is otherwise useless and defeats the purpose of this fine thread).

Mere hours until close. Last and final bump until the last-minute crowd bids.

Check your time zones, the LAST bid at 11:59 CST takes it home. 12:00 is no good.

Tick-Tock, less than two hours. Not that it matters as you aren't going to sell it anyway - but this thing probably cost, what, $500+ to make? Maybe more?

Congrats, and thanks for helping out The Githens Center!
