    Question Center Channel Matching

    Hi,

I will be running 4 S10s as my mains and surrounds. What model would be the best for the center channel?

    Thanks!!

    Thumbs up

The Polk link is a little unclear for center, but I believe that the CS245i or CS400i(Best) would work for your application. Both models are in the Recent Product Library.

Some older models will match well. I *think* you need to look for the CS models 150, and 200. Maybe even the 225. A current decent match would be the CSi20.

Basically, any Polk with a black, silk dome, should match well. I would include the smaller Monitor series shelf speakers (granted, you will probably have to buy them as a pair), they used a variation of the Peerless 810665 1" dome, and should mate well also.

My mother is using S4's in her 2ch rig. Great drivers, and good, balanced sound - but I always felt the cabs were on the 'cheap' side. How are the 10's?

    Cheers,
    Russ

I mentioned the CS245i/CS400i due to the recommended surround being the RT35i....like I said the Polk link is unclear for the S10 and a center.

It's cool brotha, I'm not gonna slap your knuckles with a yardstick in front of the class.

Actually, the differences in the S series and the 245/400 would be subtle at best. They would be dandy centers also.

The 10s looked a little cheap on the inside the last time i popped one open to change a driver. Pressboard wood, etc.. but I guess many of them come that way.

Thanks for the info. Any suggestions on a good sub match?
