Default Help Powering my Polk Audio Atrium 65 SDI's (Emotiva?)

Have been looking on what to power my Atrium 65 SDI's and I was thinking Emotiva!! Yes I said Emotiva.. For the price of the Preamp and Amp it's not that bad.

    UPA-2 UPA-2 Two Channel Amplifier (2 x 125)
    $389.00

    USP-1 USP-1
    $449.00

I'm open to other options (Just a used receiver / something else??) I will probably need a DAC as well as I want to be able to use my LapTop for music..

I'm not asking which is preferred just throwing things out there, and the peachtree popped in my head after I posted, another thing I like about the peachtree is it's size for my needs..

I have the Emo combo in my exercise AKA mid life crisis room, driving a couple of Monitor 50s. It's OK as background noise but not frightfully musical. Every once in a while a phrase somebody used somewhere on this forum, "ice pick in the ears," comes to mind.

Try Sansui au717 or au919. These amps are dynamic and not as bright as the Emotivas. You can find them on ebay or cl.

well if you got the emotiva stuff you would have plenty of cash left to get a bunch of ear wax.

Parasound hca-750a which are available for around $140-225 depending on whether flea bay or Audiogon. On Audiogon they go quick. 75 Watts 20A current.

Want some more umph in the same price range and the John Curl design input hca-1000a with 125W and 45A. Avg. $340 on the gon last was $270.

Both are stoutly built but fairly compact.
