    Default Shunyata Anaconda speaker cables

In my two-channel system I have two Shunyata Python CX power cords, one for each amp, and love the clarity they provided. Being an engineer, I appreciate that Shunyata develops technology to be able to measure power cable performance, and provides that information for anyone to read and understand. So, when I heard that Shunyata was applying their cable engineering expertise to both interconnects and speaker cables I decided to try their top-of-the-line speaker cable, the Anaconda.

I was using Omega Mikro Planar V cables, and was happy with them. However, they are not cat compatible, and I have already had to have them repaired from cat damage, so that helped push me toward the Shunyata upgrade.

I installed the Anacondas last night. At first they seemed a bit bright, but after a few hours of use they started to settle down. As time went on, they just got better and better. One thing I noticed is that even bad CDs sound better. How they managed that trick I do not know, but I can live with it.

All the usual adjectives apply with these cables. The sound is more defined, more precise, more detailed. For example, the ping of a triangle, and piano key strokes, will slowly oscillate away and fade into the background. Brush strokes onto a symbol are clear, and the sound of the sweep is now a clear part of the music. The bass notes are more defined so that you can point to where it is in the air. This applies to everything in the music.

While most of this also occurred to some degree with my previous cables, it is much better with the Shunyata cables. For me, there is no contest. It is a worthwhile upgrade.

Any music enthusiast with even the slightest bit of experience will tell you that cables matter. They matter a lot, and the better your gear, the more music you can extract with better cables. I continue to be amazed at how much music I can get from my modest system as I do various tweaks and upgrades.

Now that Shunyata has entered the cable game there is another option for people to try. They offer three different speaker cables at various price points, so if you are considering a step-up in cables I have to say give them a try. I doubt if you will be disappointed.

Nice review- I'm definitely interested in trying some Shunyata products. I'm considering one for my Running Springs Haley power conditioner.
