I'm very confused about the battle between the Jolida from China and the Jolida from Maryland. Which is the genuine article? How can I make sure I get the real thing if I buy an amplifier this winter?

I had read that and it seemed convincing, but I wasn't sure about putting my faith in the words of either of the two parties involved without an outside opinion.
Perhaps if you can google it, this has been discussed extensively already on the forum. You will probably get more helpful information from the older threads than trying to rehash the same subject.
I offer this as a helpful suggestion, not the typical "use the search function". When subjects have recently been discussed many times people, including myself, are reluctant to post the same info over and over again.

"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass

Thanks for the tip, H9. I'll do some research. Like I said, I have some time before I plan on buying so I'm in no rush!
The Jolida.net website did mention a fairly recent court case so I was wondering if the topic was more recent
i picked up one of these used, a nice sounding amp.

Its kind of funny I get busy with a new truck and when I come back people are still bringing this whole thing up. I'm 100% for finding a deal but I would like to back some local for me guys (MD) and go with .com. I had a great experience last time when I went down there and had my 101/2 worked on.
If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.
That looks like a very nice piece for that price!
As far as Jolida.net/vs .com. We have kind of done that to death here. You're either for or against (search for it as Brock suggests). Either way I believe we all agree that the fight is not helping whomever wins it for now.

I wouldn't mind supporting one of them but in the end one is going to get killed off in a legal dispute and more than likely the one from MD is going to be it. The original company is in China not USA. And the original designs come from China not the USA. Sooner or later this will end bad for the boys up in MD.
United Home Audio did not have any Jolida products at the Capital Audio Fest.
I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D
That's pretty much where I stand. You can look up the previous posts on this. I visited Jolida.net in the flesh in the spring of 2010...that factory was the original manufacturer (about 45 minutes by Taxi from Shanghai), etc. Anyone interested can use the search function for more.
