    Default Blackstone TL3's?

As my other thread shows (link), I'm working on my HT setup.

Anyone have the TL3 (Blackstone) line in their setups? Thoughts?

I'm using a pair of TL2 Blackstones in my 2ch bedroom rig and I'm happy with them. When I have some funds, I'll probably add a decent compact sub to fill out the low end, but for now, I'm quite pleased.

    TL3's it is!

Just ordered the TL350 pack from Vanns. Should be here soon. Going to eventually go full 7.1 for the HT setup, but 5.1 just fine for now... BUT now I need to figure out the ".1" part.

Anyone have some Polk (or even other) sub recommendations for the Blackstones? I may eventually get a ".2" setup, but just as the 5-piece surround, 1 sub is good for now.

Now just hunting for the beast to power them... got my eye on the Yamaha RX-A3010, should do nicely and leave some room to upgrade to a 7 or even 9 setup.

Check out the DSW PRO series of subwoofers from Polk, spot on match for the 'stones.

Welcome to the boards and thanks for choosing Polk Audio!

    Cheers,

I have the TL350 setup in my bedroom. I run a Velodyne SPL1000 with them and it sounds great. The sub in this room does a wonderful job with the tl350's. The best question for you though would be how large is your room and what is your budget? I found my sub after waiting for a bit at i believe 375shipped brand new.
    My room is 12ft 10" x 15ft 6" with 9ft ceilings.

Yeah, pretty excited to see what the Blackstones can do. Now I just need to get my rti12's back from my friend to get my 2-chan happiness back.

Big open room (1 solid wall, 1 wall with windows and FP, half stair, and other is completely open)
    19'4" x 17'2", 10' ceilings

If I went with the DSWPro, seems like I may need to go the 600 series to fill out the space or could I get away with a 500 series?

I don't personally have experience with the Polk subs so i can't really say. My sub i am using would certainly be no match for your size room though.

Found a pretty good deal on a DSWPro 660wi, so looks like I'll be paring that with the Blackstone TL350 setup. Once they come in and I get them installed, I'll let you all know. I went with the 660, only because of the size and openness of the room.

That's going to be a killer setup. I'd ronco that rig.

Suliman, you will shortly have a smile on your face. The sound isn't as full as the RTi's, but I still prefer the TL3 sound over the RTi due to their smoothness. Polk knocked it out of the park with those things.

Well, it seems Yamaha is taking forever with the new RX-A3010, so I'm canceling my order for it right now and going with the RX-A1000. It's SUPER discounted right now plus I got free shipping on it from NewEgg!! I figure I can stick with it for a few months while I wait for the 3010 to start shipping and maybe drop in price a bit, then I can use the 1000 in a different room...

Soon.... soon I'll be able to hear my lovely TL3's!!!!!

The TL3s with a Pro660wi sound FANTASTIC with the Yamaha RX-A1000. Finally got them all setup and was lazy and let the YAPO config the audio levels for me, all I tweaked was the center channel dB (it had taken some gain away from it, I added it back in).

Only watched a few clips from two blue ray movies, so nothing crazy yet, but so far, they sound great fresh out of the box. Definitely recommend the TL3's!
