Default HSU VTF-2 MK3.. Will it Satisfy my Needs?

I have recently started building my first home theater that wasn't a htib. It's just going to be a 3.1 for now. So far I've got the Pioneer Elite VSX-52 and a pair of RTi A5s, and I'm waiting to stumble upon a fair deal on a CSi A6 (cherry). I'm just looking for a little help on choosing a sub which is going to deliver the best performance in what I am looking to get out of it (and within my budget of course ). For the most part, it will be for roughly 50% movies/tv and 50% music. I've done a ton of research over the past few months, but just can't seem to build the confidence to finally buy one. Every time I think I found "the one", I seem to come up on something else or change my mind. The HSU VTF-2 MK3 has been at the top of my list for the most part, but there's just a ton of other subs out there and I just really want to make sure I make the right choice.

Anyone have the VTF-2 MK3? Would you mind sharing your thoughts on it for both, movies and music? Same with the Epik Legend, as this is another sub I am highly considering. I'm also very much open to other suggestions! Please, let me hear your input!

If it helps at all, the majority of the music will be country:tongue:, and then a little bit of everything else. I'm also looking to keep it around the $500 mark, but I'm not too focused on the budget part as long as it's reasonably more bang for your buck. Thank you!

Maybe you could demo the Polk DSW Pro 500 (10in driver). I have the DSW Pro 550 WI. (same sub 2x the wattage and wireless capbable). I like it alot has great sound, no port noise and you can feel the floor boards shake when the bass hits.

The 660 WI would be the 12" one and I would go that route if you have the room.

Thanks for the recommendation! The DSW Pro 500 is actually one of the other subs I have considered. My only concern with this sub is that it wouldn't be enough for my living room. And jumping up to the DSW Pro 600, I just think I could get the same quality for a little less. No hate for Polk, I love their speakers and I think their subs are just as good as some of the other great subs out there. I just think they're a little more pricey than some of the competition, but then again, I'll admit I haven't really shopped a whole lot for them and have barely even looked at the DSW PROwi line.
    -Pioneer Elite VSX-52
    -Cherry RTi A5s
-Cherry CSi A6 (soon to come)
    -Still sub shopping
    -Sony 46'' LED
    -Xbox 360 Elite
    -PS3 slim
