    Default would like a review

Hello gys again this is just for curiositys' sake and no other motive.
I own a pair of Infinity SM 112s that are from the 80s are were professionally refoamed. As some of you may or my not not know this was a C/L find and for the price I just had to jump and hear them. The man who was selling them was desperate to leave for Europe and could not take them w/ him. Now I have read Audioholics review which was pretty spot on I would like your opinions. Keep in mind not a peep, rattle or foreign sound is coming from either one of these speakers. To say I got a good deal would be the understatement of the century. With that could you critique this set. I can handle what is thrown at me but , well we'll see.Oh yeah the bottom price was $40 w/ pristine living room presentable cabinets.

For $40.00 you got a good deal, that's the good news. The bad imo is that the highs hurt your ears for long listening sessions. the bass is boomy. and the mids are well, not great either. A great party speaker for sure but not for critical listening in any way shape or form. Not bustin' on ya' btw. I know this because my son has a pair hooked up to an old H/K receiver and he loves the bass these guys pump out. If ya' don't keep them you can always flip em.
    Everything matters. That is all.
Money cannot buy happiness, but it sure can buy a bad ass boat to pull up along side it though.

You want a review of speakers you already own ? No offense LW, but the only review that matters is yours.

I bought some speakers from someone once, but unfortunately the left speaker only played foreign sounds (Manderin Chinese to be exact). Since I've run into said issue, I recently purchased some new speakers that were also professionally refoamed. The seller said something about being on a boat, and they were being deployed and were unable to meet me in person so I had to send them a money order. Not sure what that was all about, but I got a hell of a deal. Just waiting for him to ship. He's been really busy lately though, but I'm pretty excited. I'll give you a proper review once I can get them properly burned in and have some listening time with them.

Paying 40 bucks for them is 39.95 too much IMHO...

I used to sell those in the 80's and frankly they should only be a garage/shop speaker. Not very good tonally or accuracy.

heiney9,I must dissagree w/you on this set of speakers.Prior to this I've owned Criterions which were to say the least terrible. So now I think the SM112 is quite a step up for me.And yes a review of a couple of my favorite speakers is an exercise in taste and subjectiveness.

I see, you ask people to review YOUR speakers telling us to be honest and then you post about how you disagree. Noted.

IMO, they are pretty poor sounding speakers. If you like them and a step up for you, then that's all that matters.
