    Default Dynamat Extreme alternative???

Anybody ever heard of this or used it?

    www.secondskinaudio.com

I called my local Mobile audio store to see if i could get scrap's of some Dynamat for my baskets on my SDA's. The owner told me that they quit using Dynamat because this product is twice the product that Dynamat is. The foil is 3x thicker and the Butyl compound is 2x thicker and much more stickier than Dynamat. according to him I could buy a 12 x 24 sheet for 10bucks. So i have never used Dynamat so to be able to walk in and buy this to try I think I might, heck for 20.00 and no shipping can't hurt.....can it?

    thoughts??

    It's probably fine.

I wound up using a product called FatMat, which is almost identical to the Dynamat Extreme I still had scraps of.

As long as it's a foil backed butyl compound, with decent adhesive, and it's made to dampen sheet metal in cars it'll be OK

I have heard of them (and FatMat). Same concept as Dynamat. Is one better than the other, not sure since I always stick to Dynamat.

For me I used this online store to order my Dynamat. I havent found it cheaper anywhere else. http://www.caraudiodeals.com/advance..._description=1

Local pickup though has a bunch of advantages and its not a lot to lose if you dont like it, so heck give it a shot.
