A buddy of mine stays there, whenever he goes out. He said for the $$$, you can't beat it.
IIRC, he also said they have an insane buffet downstairs. Something silly like 200+ items
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

TI was getting a little crazy for awhile with their prices (in relation to what they offer), but they seem to have brought them down significantly. The buffet was pretty good, but the Mirage has far more choices. The buffets are crazy anymore--very expensive. Bev & I had breakfast in the TI buffet Saturday---$51! That's rediculous.

I think the best "value" on the strip is the Monte Carlo. Easy to navigate casino, great rates, clean, and a pretty cool theme. I recommend the MC to anyone wanting to go to Vegas, and not wanting to spend a ton of money. You can get a nice suite in MC routinely for less then some higher-tone hotels' regular king bed rooms.

I have stayed at the Mirage. For the money, it is a very nice hotel. I have also stayed at the Venetian, The Bellagio, and Planet Hollywood. Planet Hollywood was about the same as the Mirage, but the other two were a little pricey. I love vegas. The shopping, the atmosphere is just quite insane.

The Mirage is our personal favorite. Just the right blend of class, cost, service, and a great casino. I think they're a little too proud of the place, price-wise, but the excellent service makes up for it. Mirage has a way of being classy, without being "stuffy." Bellagio and Venetian--though both nice hotels-- are a little too stuffy of an environment for me. (Though the Venetian suites are a hell of a deal).

Bev pointed out to me on this trip that when we are on the Mirage casino floor, and she orders wine, it's always in a wine glass. MGM, TI, and a number of others simply use a juice glass---nitpicky, yeah, but it's the extra mile that makes the Mirage a classy joint. A woman doesn't want to sip wine from a juice glass.
