Default What do you set your Monitor70 and CS2 crossover frequency at?

Audyssey set mine all at 40 hz. Any suggestions/opinions?

    Thanks!

I run my set up (70s, 60s, and cs2) small at 80 Hz or full band 70s only for 2 channel stereo. Experiment between about 40-80 Hz and find what sounds best to you with your gear in your room. It took me a couple of months of tweeking (speaker positioning and xover settings) before I found what suited me for my set up in m room.

Generally you want to start at 80 - that works for most people. With the 70's you could go to 60, but I wouldn't expect them to dig too deep. I can't remember what sub (if any) you are running. If you are in fact running one, you might as well let it do it's job, and free up some headroom for the rest of the bandwidth.

Agreed! What kind of AVR are you running because that will have some effect on how much it can 'drive' the towers? Having said that, I do run mine at 40 hz and everything else at 80hz, although I find that for some soundtracks my CS2 likes to be at 60hz?

As said, experiment and see what sounds best to you. I know the basic advice is to run everything 'small' and let the sub relieve the AVR from the strain of low bass duty. But I just don't like what I hear at 80hz all the way around in my room.

THX...say's 80hz for sounds..and depending on your front (mains) ..being if they are Towers..or bookshelfs?..i have tryed setting my mains to large and found that when playing a Blu-ray in Master..DTS..i was getting a (sub) phase issues.THX will tell you that if and i can not say if this is true ..you will lose surround information if your surrounds are not set too 80hz..

My receiver is definitely not that great. I have a sub on order (should be here within a few days; eD A2-300) that should be pretty good. I'm thinking about bumping my CS2 to 80hz and my M70s to 60hz. Good? Or should I go 80 all around?

@kazaam...i have my M70's set too full in HT and my center and surrounds set to 80hz..only because my sub Polk 10 is weak which i will upgrade soon too the Polk 505..but i think when you do get your sub in and i believe it is a lot better then the Polk PSW 10..it will handle the low end in your surround much better..so setting your M70's too 60hz should be ok..but have too agree with Esreuter...play around with it some and let your ears tell you what you like....its a choice..some people like adcom..carver..b&k...EMOTIVA..sonyes..or even a lil parasound amp..its a choice..

if running for HT I used to set at 80Hz and let the sub take over from there. For 2 channel I would run full range and no crossover.

Test it out and see what sounds the best to you there is no wrong answer really.
