    Default RT7,s worth getting??

Had a chance to get a pair, But more than one source said they werent as good in the mids, and bass, that the imaging was not as tight or focused, as some of the other rt,s or newer rti, lines, IM assuming that in there day, compeating with the advent prodigy, or Legacy, they were good, Also, never replaced, so im also assuming it was the larger mid-bass that was its downfall???

The RT-7 was, and is, a good speaker. It was at least as good if not better than the other RT's of that line. I like the 7" midwoofer. The bass is great for a speaker its size.

Whether or not it's "worth getting" depends on the price, and your ears, like everything else.

    What's the price?

I believe he wanted $125, for the pair, But had no way of hooking them up at his place, ive got the rt5,s and rt25i,s prefer the rt25i,s to the rt5,s, cleaner, more refined sound, at least on my gear, and to my ear, Id have to hear them, as of now ive pretty much passed, as he seems pretty pushy to get rid of them, and with him, its not that he needs the money.

If they work, $125 is a good price. If something's blown, it's not easy to get replacement drivers. Perhaps you can take your receiver and a FM antenna over to his place and listen to them first.

I have a pair myself and they are in fact good speakers. I had another pair that I still regret selling but at least I know they went to a good home.

you know I like em surfer. They are closer to the rt25is than the rt3s that I had 9the tweeter is the key; the rt7s have the earliest instantiation of the tri-lam dome tweet). The highs are nice, smooth and detailed, and the bass is outstanding for a bookshelf speaker at that price. I think Russman still has his if that tells you anything. I don't keep any more speakers than I have in systems, so I passed mine along.
