    Default LSi 7.1 setup.....

so my new LSi setup should be here tomorrow......

    new system will be
    Fronts LSi15
    Center LSiC
    surrounds LSiFX

now im trying to figure out what im gonna use for rear speakers. looking at another set of LSiFX. LSi7, LSi9, another set of used LSi15 or in-wall speakers like the LCi RTS105. 85% HT/Gaming 15% Music

the rest of the system will be
    55" Sony Bravia 3D LED hx820
    DT HDTV
    PS3/Wii
    BDP
    Pioneer Elite AVR SC-35
    Cinenova Grande 5
will add another amp for the rears
    Epik Castle sub
    MIT cables

i have new db840 subs for the LSi15 already. planning on modding the x overs in the LSi15 and LSiC.

gonna rock the 5.1 til i figure out what to get. after im get the 7.1 setup ill be done upgraded for awhile, well til i get my new sub setup....Dual Epik Conquest from Eric.......

i have a set of FXia4 but i dont think they would sound good and wont match.

so let me know what you guys think please.
    Thanks

All that incredible sound, only to watch on a small 55" TV. Work a projector and screen in there so they compliment each other. Until then

It really depends on your room and what sounds good to your ears.
For a relatively small room, I wouldn't even go to 7.1 since you probably couldn't get the optimum placement of the speakers. 7.1 channel is over-rated in that respect.

For 7.1, I've tried each of the combinations you mentioned except for the in wall LCi RTS105's. On one system, I finally settled with LSi15's for the side surrounds and LSiFX for rears. I went with LSi25's for the fronts.
With the other system, it is the same except I have a pair of LSiC's for the rears.

You can't go wrong with a pair of LSi7's. They can always be used for two channel if you deceide to change. Esthetically, the LSiFX's might be the way to go. Of course in-wall can look very nice, but there is no changing after it is done.

I personally would just go with a set of LSi 7's, RTi A3's or something along those lines for your rear surrounds. With as much music as they produce timbre matching isnt that big a deal.

So save yourself some cash, go with a small keyhole mountable speaker for them and you will be set.

P.S. starting to go through the same thing, we are moving in 6 months and I am starting now to try and convince the wife we can do 7.1 in the new place ..... I figure she gets all new furniture, I should get a all new speaker layout Its a losing battle I am afraid....

Go with the 7s as a rear. The FXs are kind of "one-sided", meaning they are going to have a little more output from the "front" drivers, so I think they're better as a side surround than anything.
