Default new ICs for me,learned a lesson

Hi, I'm one happy guy right now after h/u my new pair of Signal Cable ICs. Frank the owner talked me through the whole purchase with my price point and totally understood that most people do not have piles of cash to spend on wires. After reading most of your posts saying that there is a world of difference between standard RCA cables and purpose built ICs, well I'm a believer and it might take a while but I do take advice when I can afford to. What I should have done was to save $ and then buy quality, instead of running through sub standard ****.So what I have is a pair of 3ft Signal Cable ICs.I'm still learning so please don't goof on me to terribly.

I know exactly what you mean. Sounds like me vs my father. I will walk into a Home Depot and spend $30 on a nice shovel. My dad wonders why I would spend $30 on a shovel when he can buy 6 of them for that price at Harbor Tool.

I still have my $30 shovel, and he's probably on his 4th or 5th $5 shovel in the past few years. Buy quality when you can, and you won't have to double up on your expenses over time. Not saying you need $1500 IC's, but like you've noticed - there is definately a difference between a $7 pair and a $20 pair. Good luck with your audio adventures.

Thats why we say the better your gear gets, the better everything else needs to be,including cables. Your journey to good sound LW, is no different than alot of folks here. Buy quality, buy used to stretch that budget. You don't have to spend new car money to get good sound, as you are finding out.
