    Default component video cable

I went to the city today and dropped by the Home Depot. Yeah, I was shopping for a deal and found one.

OK, The bad part is their Monster, the good part is the 7 dollars for a 4 ft cable.

They had 8 ft component video cables on sale also.

    Just lettin ya know

You couldn't give me a Monster Cable. But if you're happy with the purchase, enjoy.

Yes, I know people here hate monster.
For seven bucks I couldn't pass it up since I needed them.
    They're pretty nice.

For $7 how could you go wrong. Even if you change the cable later on, you can have it as a spare or sell it for more than $7. Nice Grab.

There is nothing wrong with Monstercables , it's the company everyone hates for what they have done.

Lol owned by best buy. that's good. that'd be funny!!

back to the thread, I have Monstercables THX1000 component cables, ya know the pretty ones?

    http://www.amazon.com/Monster-ULT-V8...9852318&sr=8-2

they work very well, I wouldn't change... especially since I was told to just stick with these instead of getting a higher priced cable until I can use HDMi. I had no idea Home depot sold Monsters. cheap buy and good deal. for some reason they are extremely expensive retail but are easily obtained for a fraction that price anywhere online.

I actually wish I knew what they've done too...

Monster cable has long been known for strong arming "ANY" company that dares to use the name Monster in their company name. They claim that the word Monster belongs to them. Here is a list of some of the unfortunate souls that have had to defend themselves against MC.

Snow Monsters (a kid's skiing group)
    MonsterVintage, small used clothing store
Monsters, Inc., an animated feature film
    Monster Garage, a television series
Monsters of the Midway, a nickname of the Chicago Bears football team
    Fenway Park's Monster seats
    Monster Energy, energy drinks
    Monster.com employment website
    Monster Mini Golf
Monster Balls Paintballs manufactured by JT Sports
    Monster Transmission

    Google page for Monster lawsuits:http://www.google.com/search?q=monst...ient=firefox-a

Besides this type of business practice, they push dealers of their products into bundling their product with extended warranty plans etc. to push ticket averages up beyond a simple suggestion that you might want to look into better cables. Many people feel strong arm tactics at the register so severe that they feel bad if they don't buy the "Extras".

This has turned alot of potential buyers of their product away from the brand.
