Default Mid Surround Sound Speaker Choice

We are moving to a new house in the next couple of weeks and are creating a room that will be 7.1. We are bringing our five speakers from the old system (all great speakers) but need to decide what to do for the new ones. I was looking at the RM-8's and wondered if those would be good mid surround speakers. Obviously they have great reviews but worried because of the wide dispersion and how that would work from where they supposed to sit. If these aren't the best, what is a good speaker for this in the price range of 100-150 for a pair.

The surround do not have to match front stage however, I agree with falconcry72 that it would help knowing what the remainder of you speakers are. How about describing your room layout? Any chance of pics even if you aren't in the new place yet?

I would use a BiPole / DiPole speaker for the side surrounds.

They don't have to, but then in reality, the front stage doesn't have to either. However, I still recommend that the surrounds match, just as I would recommend for the front stage. It may depend on how sensitive you are, but I can certainly tell when surround speakers don't match the front speakers.

    Default Hey guys

Sorry I have not replied, hopefully you guys are still watching this thread.

    Right now we have

B&W DM 620's in the front.
    DM 600 for the center
And I believe DM610 in the back

I can make my way around an audio store though do not know a ton about audio equipment as I do about video stuff. I am just trying to get everything to sound as good as possible. Though we've had these speakers for awhile, they seem to have held up very good and they all work. What would be the best set up using these speakers and which two new ones should I buy?

    Default Wait a minute

looking at the back ones I have no idea what they are. The only information I have is from B&W but I don't think they are the 610's. I doubt this helps at all, but they are white, and say solid everywhere on them. There is no brand or model number on the speaker.

That is the floorplan of what I am looking at. Sorry for the photo of the computer, my screenshot program jpeg wasn't saving in the way this wanted it I guess. The screen will sit on the furthest front wall, with the sub and center channel sitting below it and the standing speakers will sit to the sides of the screen. The screen is 85 inches I believe. The wall juts out on the bottom side which makes the speaker placement a bit tough, but how would you guys position the speakers? The cord cutouts are where the red circles are, though we can mount the speakers a little away from those cutouts if you think that would help the sound. I am hoping to get this as good as it can get, and really do not know a ton about maximizing the audio quality.

As for a scale on the picture, I don't have the exact measurements but basically the 85 inch screen fits between the two speakers in the front. Thanks again for all your help!
