Hmm I remember the last time I read about the kidd it didn't strip the audio out of the iPod and bypass the internal DAC like the wadia system would do. I'm sure it can still sound good but not as good as not using the internal iPod DAC. They might have changed it though but didn't see anything to show that.

If they aren't using the digital out and are using the iPod's DAC then it doesn't matter how much money it costs since it will only sound as good as a $5 DAC can sound.

They are'nt they are just buffering the analog output.It amounts to a lost oppurunity to make a truly excellent all in one dock IMO.

Seems like a waste of an amplifier. No other inputs, so the ipod would be the only source connected to the speakers.
