    Default favorite album of the 90's???

    You can only pick one. That's what makes it tough. Id have to say Tragic kingdom by No doubt. Before going single this band really could own almost any music style and gwen is beautiful so that doesn't hurt.

    I'm going to cheat a bit and bookend the decade with what I feel are the two best releases during that time...

    Pixies - Doolittle... Technically April, 1989. Pretty much set the bar for anything released on college radio over the next ten years.

    The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin... May of 1999. It took ten years for someone to finally trump Doolittle, but it was well worth the wait. I'm still hard pressed to name a better album in my collection.

    Cheating indeed, MY favorite of the early 2000 is GODSMACK acoustic. I Also second Korn in my top 50 probably.

    Great time for rock in the 90s so this is a tough one. Long decade...

    1990 - 1995: LIVE - Throwing Copper... epitomizes my discovery of alt rock (but so did Nirvana, STP, Pearl Jam, Weezer, Dave Matthews, etc.)

    1995 - 2000: 311 - Transistor... sentimental pick. bought this CD 2 days before heading off to Va Tech for my freshman year of college in 97. Played the **** out of it. On my 2nd CD ;)

    Early REM would be from the 80's.

    This is a tough one... If you were to ask me back in the 90's, I probably would have said "Temple of the Dog", Metallica's "Black" album or something like that. Now though, I would name something a bit more laid back, such as Robbie Robertson's "Storyville", Donald Fagen's "Kamakiriad" or Chris Rea's "Auberge". Man, there was some great Neil Young too. Too many great ones to choose!
