Who has owned both? RTa9 and RTi12

I'm moving into the area of an upgrade. The price of the 12's are hard to beat! Would it be worth the extra coin to snag the 9's instead?

Stat wise, the specs seem to be the same, but there has been some redesigning of the cabinet, it makes it a newer speaker, does it make it a better sounding one?
