Pairing RTi12 with RTi4's in 7.1

I'm currently using RTi4's as front with a CSi30 center... in wall for surround and rear.

Looking at buying RTi12's for fronts, moving RTi4's to rear, and finding a way to wire the in walls to act as just 2 channels for surround. I think I realize that the CSi30 is not up to stuff anymore with this setup, so I would also get a new CSi5.

Can anyone comment on how they think this would work out? I will definitely need to upgrade power for the RTi12's, but that can wait a while...

Hey Eric thanks for response... mostly for family, occasional friends...

the layout is a room about 18x30, with 63" Samsung plasma on one of the 30' walls. Fireplace on one of 18' walls and the other is an open arch to another similar sized room with a pool table.

I was thinking I could wire the "pairs of in wall" in parallel as 4 ohm loads, but don't know if receiver will be kind to
mixed loads on different channels??? Are they totally isolated???

Big space to fill - would be helpful to know where your current in-walls are located and where your 'listening spot' is (hopefully not up against the back wall).

The overall layout of everything will help determine if you can successfully set up a 7.1 configuration and where the various speakers would need to be located.

Which inwalls do you currently have and what is your AVR?

OK... listening position is basically seated with back to the windows wall.

Current receiver is Yamaha (forget model number) 90w / channel 7.1, with the YPAO speaker cal. system, and Dolby
Digital etc... drawback is no HDMI, and with the RTi12's, I'm pretty sure power is an issue as well.

The RTi's are on sale for like 679/pair, which by itself is a killer price but it also includes a Polk powered subwoofer,
I think the PSW111 for FREE. That's next question... with that subwoof, plus the other I already own (similar Polk)
will the RTi12's still sound underpowered????

Yeah and the inwalls are Polk RC85's... I need to move them though...

I was thinking about ceiling placement for these...

Overall, I'm planning to upgrade / change... and need to do some drywall work along with it, so most options are open...

In general, if your listening spot is back up against the rear wall, then you can't 'properly' set up a 7.1 configuration - and maybe a 5.1 is better.
