Rockin the 2112 cd, remastered, sounds amazing on my Monitor 70s. need more power though, 75 wpc is not cutting it!!!!

The Rush trio is phenomenal. I recently watched the R3 show on Palladia. If I'm not mistaken they do the entire side of 2112. I will have to did this cd out and give it a listen. Just got done with Yes (Going for the one--- Awakening is amazing on my new 2.3tl's), Genesis (Selling England by the Pound) Peter Gabriel (So and Us) and Pink Floyd (The Wall).

The original 2112 CD sounds the best unless you have the Mobile Fidelity gold 2112 which i do

just wish i had a SACD of it.

I prefer the way 2112 sounds on vinyl myself. I will have to try the Mobile Fidelity gold cd, though.

I remember seeing them on the Farewell To Kings tour -- they did the first side of 2112 (as they did on the All The World's A Stage live album). Nice.

Great album, but both the CD and LP were horribly mastered.

Not the best in terms of sonics.

I agree the album is great but never sounded as clean as their other offerings. Exit Stage Left sounded bad too although Moving Pictures is one of my reference recordings.

Broke my copy out on CD last night..........a 5 year old copy. It really is recorded well and I never noticed it until I listened to it on my gear. Passage to Bangkok has been my ringtone for around 3 years now.

Agreed - Moving Pictures is, to me, their cleanest recording that I have. Of course I don't have anything newer than that so can't speak to their later stuff, never heard it.

Rush fans are certainly a "generational" phenomenon.

They're OK but a bit after my time.

As long as you play them "loud" and "Louder", perhaps "LOUDest" you're probably good! lol

Enjoy. And yeah, M-70s can soak up all the power a 200 watt x 2 amp has to give them!

Check out "Snakes and Arrows". The style goes back to the roots of Rush and is probably the best sound quality their albums. The track "The Main Monkey Business" is killer. For best results, play at maximum volume.
