Just noticed this thread and glad my own observations were accurate. Didn't really know Adele until I saw her last year performing at the grammys. I was blown away by her performance. Went out and got the vinyl (rarely buy cds anymore) cleaned it up out of the box and put it on the system. Sounded OK to start but when the first song really started to crank so did my volume and thats when I stepped back and said " this recording sucks". Was tempted to buy another just to compare but looks like that won't do the trick. Damn shame because this is a great album.

Hello, capecodder. If you want a "decent" recording of her, the best I have ran across so far is the Adele Live at the Royal Albert Hall on Blu-ray. While it's still nothing to write home to Mom about, it's a far cry from the recording disaster of 21.

I went back and re-read the thread. I see where you were coming from now, Daffypuck. Please accept my apologies. For a moment there....ah, never mind. My apologies.

@op. Not really. I didn't notice it not being recorded well but the musicianship is no where close to the first one (19) IMHO.

Too bad about the quality of the "21" recording. As mentioned, the blu-ray at RAH is quite good from an audio perspective, but I thought the video presentation was wanting, very grainy in spots. She has a hell of a voice and her recordings certainly deserve better.
