Ohm setting for Def Techs

Ok i set up my teenage son with some new old stuff i have and my question is this.
I gave him a pair of BP10 DefTechs i had sitting around and they are hooked up to about a 10 year old JVC AVR.
On the back of the JVC is a switch for speaker impedance of either 4-6 or 8.
I realize i can just default to 8 but here is what DT says and i want to get the best setting.

"The system?s minimum impedance of
3.5 ohms occurred at 200 Hz. Impedance
was 4 ohms at 35 Hz and 4.5 ohms from
5,000 to 10,000 Hz. The maximum was 8
ohms at 65 and 900 Hz. The phase angle
of the impedance was less than 22 degrees
over the full 20- to 20,000-Hz range."

Thoughts from the experts please.4-6 or just use 8.
Will there be a noticeable difference? Any real difference?
Does anybody really know what time it is?
Does anybody really care?

Leave it at 8 ohm, that switch on the back will limit the current the speakers get, but also designed to keep the receiver from overheating. Maybe that receiver isn't a good match for those speakers. Seeing as you gave it to your teenager, playing it loud is going to be up his alley, but maybe not so much that receivers. I would imagine if he keeps the volume respectable, you should have no problems..

based on the size of his bedroom i doubt he will need to juice it to unbearable levels
it served me well some years ago and i can get heavy handed on the volume at times

Def Tech's are 8ohm load speakers. All speakers move load depending on Frequency.
