    Default Would Rti8 be a downgrade from (mid 90's vintage) RT16 for HT?

    I found a good deal on a pair of Rti8's and am considering pulling the trigger. I am currently using RT 16 from the mid-90's in my HT rig. I have a CSi3 which I know is a better match for the RTi's. HT/Music is 50/50on this setup. I also run an SVS PC 20-39. The receiver/amp combo is Denon 4310 and Sony TA-N9000ES. The RT 16s sound pretty sweet, but I am wondering if anyone has had experience with both of these specific speakers. Thanks!

    If you described your rt16s as "sweet" and 50% music. Forget the rti8, it's very bright and suck for music. I bought them cheap (200/pair new from fry's) and currently not using them.
    AVR: Denon AVR 3806 => CSi5 & FXi3
    MUSIC: HK Citation 7.1 => SDA 1C & LSi9 w/V-DAC II

    If you want to out class the Rt16's you should look at the RTIA series especially the 7s. They are fantastic and more refined then the rt16's.

    I was under the impression that the RTi line and RTiA line were quite similar.

    Aside from that, the price these speakers are for sale for make the comparison difficult. My wife wouldn't let me pop for RTiA 7's unless I unloaded some other gear to offset the cost.
