    Default DB vs DXi

I used to be into car audio, but I've been out of the game for about 10 years.

    I'm looking to outfit a friend's car with some Polks. She's gonna need (2) 5 1/4's and (2) 6 1/2's.

What's the sound quality difference between the DXi's and the DB's? They seemed comparably priced and spec'd. They obviously look a lot different...

    Thanks, dudes!

Not a significant difference in my opinion between them. Now if you consider the MM line, they are much better.

MM line won't be great on a HU given their impedance. Go with whichever you can get the best deal on.

Shouldn't the lower impedance pull more power from the HU ?

I guess the issue is if the tiny amp in the hu can handle the lower impedance. Given that, I'm not sure I'd go strictly by the 2.7 Ohm rating on the MM. It's basically a 4ohm speaker rated at 2.7 at a particular frequency. I think there would not be any issues in hooking it up to hu power.
